SEEK medical care immediately.  If you delay your employer or their workers compensation insurance carrier may question the connection between the accident and you injury.

NOTIFY the your supervisor about the injury and the way in which it occurred, as soon as possible. Please insert your text here.

RECORD the names of any available witnesses, especially if they are not your co-workers.  Often times these witnesses may be hard to locate later on if you have not obtained their address or phone number promptly.  You should also take photographs of the accident site and instrumentalities causing the injury if possible.

CONSULT with an attorney who specializes in personal injuries to determine your rights.  Do not presume that everything will be taken care of by your employer's workers compensation carrier.  Some states, including Texas, do not require employers to maintain workers compensation coverage.  If you are injured while working for an employer who does not subscribe to workers compensation insurance you may need to establish negligence on the part of your employer in order to be entitled to receive medical or economic assistance.
